Traveling to Osa Peninsula is an adventure into the heart of wildlife abundance. Osa is the gem of Costa Rica. This area hosts the largest population of Scarlet Macaws in the country, all four species of monkeys, both species of sloths, Costa Rica’s largest remaining population of jaguars and tapirs, over 100 species of reptiles and a huge diversity of frogs. The colors and sounds will excite and amaze you as we spend our entire tour in this magical place.read more
This peninsula is still considered the most remote part of Costa Rica and while it is relatively untouched, the eco-lodges of the area are well equipped to give us a comfortable stay and rich adventure.
We will stay at three lodges over the course of this tour. Each has distinct aspects that make venturing into this secluded part of Costa Rica a unique opportunity. We will stay in bungalows that immerse us in the heart of nature while enjoying the comforts of good food and soothing ocean breezes.

April 8 & 9 – Gulfo Dulce area
Enjoy exploring and photographing wildlife along the rainforest trails and lush garden areas of this 750-acre preserve, located on cliffs 500 feet above the pacific. While the views here are spectacular, the wildlife is also amazing with all four species of monkey, both species of sloth and a huge diversity of birds regularly seen here.
April 10 – Further into the depths of Osa
Continue exploring the wild habitat around Gulfo Dulce in the morning, then depart for our next lodge as we travel further along the coast, into more wild and diverse areas of Osa.
April 11 – Scarlet Macaws and more
This area is especially known for the healthy population of Scarlet Macaws that thrive in this part of the rainforest jungle. We will work to find and photograph these birds as well as other species like monkeys and sloths, frogs, tropical birds and more. We will have a full day to photograph and enjoy this area.
